My humble attempt at building my version of the digital world one step at a time by creating programming and computer science content to help those coming behind me.
I've tracked my coding journey since 2016 by documenting my experiences as a (now-former) computer science student & (now-former) software engineer, all in an attempt to help others coming behind me. I believe there's a lot of value in seeing how someone else has done something, so I try to teach everything I learn in this programming and computer science space as I learn it. Now, I do RUclips full-time and am able to focus on hobby projects. Really, I'm just here to have fun with code lol. Enjoy!

How to Automate Your Developer Workflow

As a programmer (or engineer), if something takes up more than 90 seconds of my time, I'll automate it. That's the beauty of knowing how to code. You can write scripts for just about anything, whether it's something that takes up too much time, something you just don't like doing, or you run a telnet session to your coffee machine (which runs Linux and a TCP socket) to start brewing you a half-caf latte so that it's done after the exact time it takes you to walk there. Or... you don't have the time or know-how to do that so you whip up anything from simple to complex automation workflows using make.com.

3 Types of Algorithms Every Programmer Needs to Know
Просмотров 453 тыс.5 месяцев назад
It's my thought that every programmer should know these 3 types of algorithms. We actually go over 9 algorithms, what they are, how they work, real-world use cases, complete with code examples and explanations, but they fall under 3 categories, 3 types of algorithms you should know. Sorting Algorithms - used to rearrange elements in a list or an array in a certain order. We discuss bubble sort,...

Makes me wonder where stack overflow went bad. I remember when I was a teenager, it wasn't the total cesspit that it is nowadays. Granted, we're talking over a decade of time. Guess all the little buttholes I went to school with grew up and became StackOverflow trolls.

Wait until you see what me and my company is working on
Forrest and Mr. Ballen could be brothers.
please make the tutorial🙏
Why do you code on linux though
Set flexible time slots for project work and always leave your self something to-do the next day. 😄
It is a culture. I think in America people don’t like to interact with others
I need the turtorial
thank you <3

I look forward to the tutorial
still waiting for the tutorial
I code on Linux (Arch btw) just so that I can say “I use Arch, btw”. I use Arch btw
🙄 This isn't what Yeshua looks like. Not even close.
As a backend dev I'm impressed. Any reason I shouldn't be? I feel like I should try learning this too.
I was scrolling so fast until I saw jesus and clicked.
Idk why this was suggested to me. But I been programming since..... idk I'm 33 and I started at 13 so, 20 years? Something like that. I almost went to prison for a program I wrote at one point. To all the kid's out there starting. If you wanna learn rev engineering. Don't do it to a company worth billions of dollars and expect them not to show up at your front door. Just some life advise.
I this for a beginner? Naha you're not teaching you're just showing you know how to code....it will be better you teach than show off....
amazingly well researched video
I'd like to interject for a moment... I use Arch BTW. I also have a tattoo of Tux and a tattoo of the Arch logo. No joke.
Most people who jump in it for the money don't have what it takes to sit and stare at code and dig into it for hours on in.
Video got more that 100k views... Brotherman please make a tutorial. I don't really know what I am doing especially with the lighting and setting position. It looks like a 2d picture😭😭😭😭
Whenever youre doing the tutorial, please provide helpful concepts for us to expand on these resources/tools so we can at least learn to apply it to our own ideas
basically u're the jesus of programming LMAO, pretty important things I didn't think and know at all, good video man I'm in the half of the video btw, but pretty sure is a good one
Soooo... if I wanted to track a handful of stats in a game simulation to test how a particular mechanic was working, I could push the stats onto individual stacks and then just pull the top one when the simulation finished, or when some other criteria was met, to see the state of the game at that point? Would that be a good use case?
Now that I think about it, the stacks would really serve like an MRI of the game. Each layer of the stack would serve as an image of the game state at that particular point. If I'm misunderstanding this, somebody please tell me. Because this seems like a more powerful tool than I ever understood. Yes, I'm very new to programming.
Shame there is basically no entry/junior level jobs anymore
seriously intelligent.
A year later GPT4o is betetr still not perfect later this summer the new version is gonna be released. I don't what level it will be at but wtween the version 4turbo and 4o is aamzing. Yeah I think a good timeline of 5 years for entry level programmers coding will be dead.
Hey ForrestKnight, I've been on the self-taught journey for 1 year and 5 months now and am currently building an app. However, due to numerous rejections, I'm considering applying for a Master's in Software Engineering. The market has been extremely competitive lately, especially for juniors like me who are trying to break into the industry, particularly here in the UK. Recently, my company accepted me as a part-time worker. Initially, I thought this would give me more time to work on my app. However, I believe the best strategy now is to pursue a Master's in Software Engineering (since I don't have a CS background) to stand out and increase my opportunities. Does that sound like a wise move for you?

Who's this guy😂, learnt more than expected. Thanks mate 🙌
GTK re B12, thx! btw if you pee green/blue it's possible you took too much B12 😉 don't panic
6:41 you're not pitching a 4 hour work day ?😢 ah shucks i was really looking forward to it. my got'cha was what the hell do i do with all the people that want to bother me and i'm obligated by contract not to ignore 😅 loved the idea though! i need to try this out
